Dr Nawaal Conrad spent her childhood years in the Boland town of Worcester, where life was more laid back and the kids cycled to school and the shops. She attended Livingstone High in Claremont and then went on to complete an MBChB degree at UCT Medical School in 1994.

After graduation, her medical internship was divided three-way: Groote Schuur (Obs & Gynae and Orthopaedics); Red Cross Children's Hospital (Burns Unit & Paeds Surgery) and Somerset Hospital (General Surgery & Paediatrics). Dr Conrad has now been in private practice for 25 years, of which 21 years were spent in Kuilsriver.

"The most enjoyable part of my job is to identify the cause of any symptom at the end of the day. I do believe that the 'look and listen' philosophy is the major cornerstone of solid medical management of every patient."

Dr Conrad strives for two main qualities in her life and work: being teachable being able to ask for help. Cats and dogs - and all animal welfare for that matter - hold a very special place in her heart and come winter, her love for gardening runs rampant. Now, as part of the Blouberg MediSpa team, she looks forward to helping each of our patients, with the added bonus of being able to cycle to work!
